Work with us.

It takes a tribe of people to operate Western Hills Garden.

We are always looking for new volunteers!
If you are looking for school credit or work experience, we also have an internship program.

And we’re hiring our first full-time horticulture position - a Horticulture Manager.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the heart and soul of Western Hills Garden. When the property was in foreclosure years ago, it was the volunteers who lobbied the bank to keep the water on and jumped the fence to check on things (or so the story goes….).

We meet on Tuesdays from 10am-1pm and work on garden projects ranging from pruning and weeding to planting and propagation.

We are also always looking for help with administrative projects, content development, marketing, and fundraising. Fill out the form below to let us know that you’re interested!

Horticulture Manager

We are currently searching for our first full-time horticulture hire. The Horticulture Manager will be a core part of our team and help us set the vision for the future of the garden. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced horticulture professional with an interest in the legacy of the property an interest in expanding its reputation as a destination garden.

Western Hills Garden offers plant-loving students a hands-on, part-time, paid seasonal internship in our historic garden as we work to preserve, restore, and transition the garden to more sustainable practices, and to expand programming for the public to enjoy .
