Hannah Muller Book Talk: Designing with Dried Flowers

Hannah Muller is a floral farmer and designer. She grew up on Full Belly Farm in the Capay Valley of Northern California and returned in her early 20s to work alongside the crew harvesting flowers, preparing them for market, and designing for weddings and events.

Her new book, Designing with Dried Flowers, shares the beauty of drying and preserving flowers, and is gorgeous representation of her work in Full Belly’s Wreath Room.

Join us for this very special event as Hannah visits Western Hills Garden for the first time. She will share her unique methods to naturally dry flowers that hold their color and delicacy and offer tricks and tips for designing arrangements – from small displays to celebratory showstoppers that look gorgeous in the moment and for months to come.

Come listen to Hannah’s story and find inspiration in the art of floral arranging with dried flowers, whether they’re from the supermarket or your garden. After her talk she will do a Q/A and sign copies of her book.

This is a must for every flower lover and a great early holiday gift for friends and family.

Come early to explore the Garden’s fall display. We will open the gates at 2:30pm.

$60 per person. One book is included in the price of admission. Additional copies can be purchased onsite.

About Hannah Muller: Hannah is a farmer, florist and author residing in Northern California. She was born and raised on Full Belly Farm, which is located in the beautiful Capay Valley in Yolo County. Full Belly Farm grows over 350 acres of certified organic fruits, vegetables, animals and flowers. Fifteen of those acres are devoted to cut flowers, which they sell primarily through their farmers markets, to wholesale buyers, and to local stores and restaurants. Hannah creates floral arrangements that mimic the surrounding landscape and uses the fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers grown on Full Belly Farm to create unique and wild garden style designs for weddings and events. She also makes wreaths and textural installations with the flowers they dry in Full Belly Farm's Wreath Room and incorporates dried flowers into her other designs along with fresh flowers. Over the last decade, she has helped to pioneer the Field-To-Vase and Slow Flower movements in Northern California, reminding supporters of local organic farming to not only eat local produce but to enjoy locally grown flowers as well.
