Blooming in May 2014: The garden is gorgeous, with lots of activity. The rhodies are ending, but ‘Mi Amor’ is still the star along with the late blooming roses and iris. The showy Beschorneria septentrionalis and giant ‘Hercules’ lilies are in full bloom.

Other notables include: abutilon, cestrum, cistus, clematis, cotinus (Smoke Bush), pink-flowering desfontainia (aka Chilean Holly), deutzia, dyckia, biennial blue echium, foxglove, iris, kniphofia (aka Red Hot Poker), sweet-smelling philadelphus, phlomis (Jerusalem sage), white poppies, St. John’s wort, wachendorphia, watsonia, and yucca ‘Color Guard’.
